I think Fisher Price makes great toys, but this one is really frustrating. The whole selling point was that it would be easier for kids to build on their own and I find these blocks really difficult for kids AND adults to use. They are very high quality and durable, but putting the legs and eyes and connectors in so that they are secure is really difficult for my 5 year old and sometimes it's hard for me too. I think they are cool looking but completely under-deliver on the unique selling proposition that they used to get me to buy these. This review is from a model builder's point of view.

What I like about this model:
It is sufficiently detailed, nice to paint on.
The cockpit detail is excellent. If you put a bit of customization, such as a seat belt, it looks really good.
This is one of the few models that have retractable landing gears. The landing gear doors also work, and when they close, they fit fairly well.
The wing can be folded, which is also a rarity
The decal is very detailed. It is 3% larger in scale compares with instruction manual, but no one would noticed.

95% of the design quality is good--as in all the parts fitted as they should.

Now, what I don't like about this model:
Parts that don't look as good is the canopy.
The clear canopy doesn't seem to be fitting as well as I would like to--had a hard time trying to squeeze the main canopy into position.

I also wish that you can open the cockpit canopy, so you can see inside it. With the "clear" canopy closed, it's a bit hard to see inside.

I know the picture presented that the wings can be folded.
While that is true, I wouldn't fold the wing back and forth too much.
The wing hinges are too weak. I personally think the hinges should be bigger thus, withstand the folding movement.

There is an instruction problem which I will email Revell after this review. If a builder follow the hinge attachment with the manual, he/she will not be able to get the outer wing fitted on correctly. The hinges are upside down. But, do play around with them before you glue. That's how I discovered the issue.

Overall:
Good model, takes sometimes to build. With paint, a good couple weekends.
I got a 40% off from Michaels and had a great time building it.
I personally would encourage people (various ages) to build these models over electronic consoles.

There is almost NO flash on the pieces, and having been a modeler for years it is very refreshing to see the quality of the molded parts in this kit. It comes very carefully packaged with the bottom end partially assembled. Naturally there are no internal workings, but the external detail is totally unsurpassed. Absolute attention to even the finest details. You actually have to build the carburetors, assemble the primary and secondary bowls, the baseplate, the external vacuum secondary (looks like a pair of 750 double pumpers w/ vac secondary linkage, factory only). You can even see the venturi in the carbs! Unbelievable!! And you have to assemble the carb linkage just like the real thing! The air filter housing and the oil filter are also unbelievably detailed.

Save K'Nex Kid - Zoo Buddies Building Set

I have kids ages 5 and 8, and although Kid K'nex are marketed as a pre-school toy, I think they are much broader than that. Certainly, their chunky size and easy-snap assembly makes them extremely pre-school friendly, but at my house, kids from 4 to 12 (and, truth be told, adults too) all seem to really like creating the friendly, goofy creatures with Kid K'nex. So I expect we will play with them for many more years, and I intend to add to our collection. This toy is not one we will outgrow soon.

This paritcular set has some cute animal body parts (ears, eyes, trunk) but it also contains a large number of lego-like (Duplo size) pieces, which caught me by surprise. Initially I was annoyed that I hadn't noticed that before buying the set since we have an abundance of Duplo and always have arguments over eyes-ears-feet. This Kid K'nex set, however, has become a nice bridge between the two types of building toys, and I see even more animal-construction creativity coming out of my kids now that they have the full range of Kid K'nex AND Duplos to incorporate into their designs.

I highly recommend this toy for kids who like to create. Even if your child hasn't shown a real aptitude for or interest in building toys, with the Kid K'nex the creatures are so cute and varied that they appeal to anyone - girls or boys, artistically inclined or not. We bought this for Christmas for our 11 year old son. It took us most of Christmas Day to complete, but it was a project that the whole family, including grandparents, could work on together. Their are a large number of parts and I would advise anyone to open the little packages as needed, not all of them at once. Some parts are so similar, it could create difficulties to complete the house according to plan. 10+ is a good age for this product, I do not see anyone 16 and over being captivated by the product once it is built, yet the 10+ child will get lots of enjoyment out of pretending to 'work' in the shop. Unfortunately there are no longer any other houses available at a reasonably price; the corner cafe's price has now been increased to over $300 (who'd buy that as a toy?)This is my reason for dropping the overall rating - The Grocer Store is suggested as part of a city street, but the other houses are no longer available, at least in the US. Cheapest Intex Easy Set 15-Foot Pool Cover

After reading the mixed reviews I still decided to purchase the pool cover and I'm very pleased I did. While others have complained about the holes in the cover. they actually work very well for 2 purposed...
(1) lets water drain from the cover into the pool to allow easier time taking the cover on/off
(2) allows air to escape when putting the pool cover on, so the pool cover is right on top of the water, with plenty of cover over the sides of the pool. The cover is not going anywhere with or without the string tie pulled tightly.

This pool cover is 10x better than the one which shipped with my pool. that was just a plastic, round, thin tarp with a seam which immediately ripped on the first use. Alphabet Blocks Top Quality

My grandson is only 10 months old, so right now, he enjoys shaking and looking at the blocks. What I am disappointed in is the fact that they will not stack very well at all. He tried to put one on the other and it falls right off. They are slippery and not formed so that they can be stacked without falling off each other. Maybe I'm "old school", but I think blocks should be for education with alphabet and even more so, for stacking ability. They are cute, well made, and I will use them as a learning tool for the alphabet with the figures that represent each letter inside the block, but I guess we won't be stacking them!

Both the A (snow groomer) and B (arctic tracker -- see my photos above) models are clever and elegant designs, and for the price (fifty at MSRP) you get a good mix of useful and unique parts (the latter including large H frames, black treads, and black and red body panels). Where the designs do not score so high is in playability, at least with my kids. The main problem is that the treads are sluggish: on wood floors the hard plastic tracks slide, and on carpet they have only moderate grip. I haven't marked the set down because of this, but I just wanted to mention it for those parents considering one model over another. Both designs are still great fun. Well, as my son says, "It's Lego. All the Lego stuff is pretty durable." He does complain that it goes through batteries like crazy. He saved up a year to buy this toy - so of course he has no money to go buy rechargables and charger. Also, it takes 6 AA batteries - so would probably need two chargers or double set of 6 batteries. As I write this he has just informed me we need to go buy more batteries!!

My complaint as a parent is that it turned out this item was to be delivered while we were out of town for the weekend. I was concerned that UPS would just drop the package off on our front door even if we weren't home. Then my son would be out all of the money he had saved to buy this product. I tried to contact UPS and schedule a later delivery date by a couple of days but was told that I had to contact the sender. So, I contacted Amazon and they basically said there was nothing they could do. But they assured me that they have contracts with their shippers to not just drop off any items if nobody is home if said item costs more than $100, which of course this does. So we got home and found that my son's mindstorm had been left in front of our house behind our trash can! Luckily it was still there!

The product itself is pretty much what my son thought it was going to be and he loves it!
