I purchased this set for my nephew for Christmas and he loved it! He is 7 years old and needed a bit of help from his father to put the pieces together, but he played with it for hours. We were not missing any pieces and did not have a lot of trouble getting pieces to fit, but my nephew did need adult assistance. I agree with the other reviewers that this set is not Lego quality, but it was a lot less expensive.
The reason why I selected this set is that my nephew is not old enough to keep his sets separate to enable him to put these together again. Once he had played with the tank, jeep, helicopter, etc. for a few weeks, he took them all apart and combined them with his other legos. I know that we probably won't be able to put any of this set together again, but, as they can be mixed with other legos, this is not a problem and so he is very happy with it.
If you are looking for an inexpensive set that a child will enjoy playing "army" with, then I think you will be happy with this set.
