These blocks weren't quite what I expected, as I thought they were made from a type of rubber or semi-soft material. They are a standard, lightweight toy plastic. However, the blocks are fun and you can build a large variety of shapes. I bought these for my two-and-a-half year old daughter who loves blocks. She isn't quite as into these yet, but I think she'll grow into enjoying them. My husband, though, has had a lot of fun making cool towers for our daughter to knock over.
