My sister and I got this for our 7-year-old cousin for Christmas. He's really into robots and Legos so we thought this would be a perfect combination. As a 27-year-old, I think I ended up having more fun helping my cousin build the robot than he did. The Lego pieces allow the limbs of the robot to have a nearly 360 degree range of motion. Some of the pieces have this rubbery portion that's very bendable; I never had those sorts of pieces in my Lego sets when I was a kid so I thought that was pretty awesome.
